Booneville- Victor Lee Earl, Sr., age 67, husband of Diane (Christiansan) Earl, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011 at his residence in Sturgeon, Kentucky. Victor was born in Plainwell, Michigan on April 13, 1944, a son of the late Ottis and Ada (Anson) Earl. He was retired, a former Bridge Tender for the State of Florida Highway Department, a member of the North American Hunting and Fishing Club, and attended the Methodist Church. Booneville, KY – Josephine Easterling, 82, of Route 1, Booneville, KY, passed away November 30, 2008 at the Owsley County Health Care Center after a long illness. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Greenville, South Carolina. She was born on January 21, 1926 in Savannah, Georgia to Robert and Ruth Wilson Turner. She is survived by her husband, Rev. L. C. Easterling of Booneville, KY; two daughters, Andrea (& Russell) Baker, Pensacola, Florida and Jennifer Prauley of Booneville, KY; a son, Robert L. (& Janie) Easterling, Anderson, South Carolina; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a sister, Charlotte Messer of Macon, Georgia. Easterling, Rev. Leaston C.

Rev. L. C. Easterling, (Brother C.), 90, went to be with the Lord December 25, 2012 at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, KY following a long illness. Mr. Easterling was born June 25, 1922 in Daisy, Georgia, was the son of the late Earl Hardy and Annie Slater Easterling, was the widower of Josephine Turner Easterling, was a veteran of World War II and was a missionary worker and pastor since 1966 and pastor of the Levi Baptist Church. He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Andrea Baker & husband Russell of Pensacola, Florida and Mrs. Jennifer Smith and husband Alan of Booneville, KY; one son, Mr. Robert L. Easterling and wife Janie of Anderson, South Carolina; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; also there are several relatives and friends. Funeral services for Rev. Easterling were held Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Levi Baptist Church, with visitation on Saturday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home. Eby, Alma Ruth McIntosh

Alma Ruth (McIntosh) Eby, age 74, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, formerly of Jacksonburg, Ohio, passed away June 12, 2012 after a long battle with heart disease. She was born March 5, 1938 in Booneville, Kentucky to Theo and Mattie (Rowland) McIntosh. While living in Ohio, she attended the United Methodist Church of West Elkton, and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kalamazoo, where she was actively involved in church activities. Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Wayne McIntosh; one brother-in-law, Seldon Henry; and one sister-in-law, Mary Ellen McIntosh. She is survived by one son, Mark Eby of Benton, Kentucky; one daughter, Diane (Eby) Baker of Kalamazoo, Michigan; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Henry of Trenton, Ohio; three brothers, Winton McIntosh, wife Barbara of Trenton, Ohio, Rex McIntosh, wife Beverly of Middletown, Ohio and Mitchell McIntosh, wife Judy of Hamilton, Ohio; one sister-in-law Beverly Baker, husband Steve of Middletown, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Bennie Joe Edwards, 58, passed away January 30, 2012 at his residence following a long illness. He was born January 30, 1954 in Clay County, KY was the son of the late Corney and Minnie Hensley Edwards, was a construction worker and was a member of the Royal Oak Baptist Church. Bennie Joe is survived by his former wife and friend: Mrs. Shirley Botner of Booneville, KY; two sisters: Mrs. Judy Byrd of Sextons Creek, KY and Mrs. Linda Kay Hensley of Cincinnati, Ohio and two brothers: Mr. Delbert Edwards of Manchester, KY and Mr. Everett Edwards of Connersville, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents: Corney and Minnie Edwards and a brother: Ronnie Edwards. Sextons Creek, KY – Betty J. Burch Edwards, 61, of HC 71, wife of Ralph Edwards, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2000 at the Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, Kentucky after a short illness. She was a housewife and a member of the Saddler Baptist Church. Born in Owsley County on May 1, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Logan and Flora Brewer Burch. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Edwards of Sextons Creek; two sons, Lannie W. (& Carolyn) Sizemore and Ricky Sizemore, both of Booneville; a daughter, Sundae Sizemore, Booneville, a step-daughter, Sherry Sizemore, London, Kentucky; two brothers, William D. (and Margaret) Burch and Dale (& Patricia) Burch; two sisters, Gertrude Peters and Sophia (& Brown) Peters, all of Booneville; six grandchildren and two step grandchildren. Lexington, KY- Bill Edwards, age 86, and husband of Marcell (Crase) Edwards, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the St. Joseph Hospice Center in Lexington, KY. Bill was born October 24, 1929 in Pebworth Community of Owsley County, a son to the late Fred and Edna (Hammons) Edwards. Bill was a retired heavy equipment operator for Columbia Gas in Lexington, he enjoyed getting in the car and just driving around the country side and spending time with the grandkids. Bill was a US Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Lexington. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, 2 daughters; Renna (Chris) Campbell of Walton, KY and Jeanie Morgan of Lexington, KY, 5 grandchildren; Dustin Edwards, Melody Clark, Lucas Morgan, Ariel Slavin, and Ina Campbell, 3 great grandchildren; Makayla Clark, Dakota Christian, and Anabelle Morgan, along with many other loving family members and friends. Edwards, Bonnie Lee Clem

Bonnie Lee Clem Edwards was born on May 25, 1944 in Oneida, KY and departed this on November 28, 2021 at her residence being 77 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Ralph & Lucy Peters Clem. Bonnie was united in marriage to Charles Edwards who also preceded her in death. She is survived by her four children, Teresa Sparks (Michael) of Sextons Creek, Sue Edwards of Booneville, KY, Brenda Wilson (Jeff) of Owsley County and Donald Edwards (Melissa) of Annville, KY. She was blessed with twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters, Charlotte, Linda, Shirley, Freddy, Ernie, Charles, and a brother Roy who preceded her in death. Carl "Papaw" Edwards, 83, of 313 Western Ave., Connersville, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at his home. He had been in failing health for the last two months. He was born March 1, 1917, in Owsley County, Ky., to Bradley and Nannie Seale Edwards. He served with the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Depression. He worked at American Kitchens, Rex Manufacturing and Philco Ford, Connersville Casket Company and D&M, where he retired in 1982. He also worked for his son Gary at Central Auto Parts. He was a charter memberr of the Everton Southern Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Norma Jacksonn of Connersvvile, Patricia Price, at home, and Kimberly Kate Pope of Blooming Grove; four sons, Bobby Carl, Gary Wayne and Timothy Mitchell Edwards, all of Connersville, and Barry Morgan Edwards of Liberty; three grandchildren he helped raise Amanda House and Bruce Bradley Price, both of Connersville, and Chad Wayne Price of Brownsville; one half brother, Gene Edwards of Owsley County, Ky.; one half sister, Hazel Brewster of Pekin; 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Mae Wilson Edwards, whom he married Feb. 2, 1940, in Owsley County, Ky., on Feb. 16, 1985; one half sister, Delores Edwards, and his step mother, Effie Edwards. Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W. Eighth St., Connersville. The Rev. Bill Isaacs, former pastor of Everton Southern Baptist Church, and the Rev. Edwards, Clifton

Clifton Edwards, 41, of Connersville passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. He was born on April 20, 1978 to the late Robert Carl Edwards and Connie Lou Kinneman Edwards. In August of 2001, he married Brandi Asbury. Clifton had worked at Alpha Dawg Diesel repair in Cambridge City and at the Milroy Pallet Company. Clifton was often found listening and singing along to country music and fishing. He enjoyed attending tractor pulls and demolition derbies. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy football fan. Clifton was known for his sense of humor and having a good time. Most importantly he loved to spend time with his family. Along Brandi, he will be greatly missed by a son Cayden (Jordan Revalee) Edwards; 2 daughters, Kylie Asbury and Starr Shepard; 3 brothers, Clint Edwards, Robert (Michelle Powers) Edwards and Charlie (Angie) Edwards; a sister, Michele Edwards; 4 grandchildren, Mia Lakes, Elliana Workman, Ava Powers and Jameson Powers; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend Mike Horning. Ed Edwards, 74, of Manchester, was born April 6th, 1940, and passed away Sunday, August 24th, 2014 at the St. Joseph London hospital. Ernest Clyde Evans, 47, of 209 Honeysuckle Lane, husband of Debbie Evans, died Wednesday (August 18, 2004) at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. A native of Madison County, he was the son of Blanche Pendergrass Evans and the late Clyde Evans. He was a contractor and a member and deacon of Calvary Christian Church. He was an assistant coach of the George Rogers Clark High School baseball team, a member of the board of directors for the Winchester Little League Association and a member of the GWRRA Riders, Mt. Sterling. Booneville, KY – Eva Edwards, 73, of Route 1, passed away at her residence on April 3, 2006 after a long illness. She was a homemaker and a Christian. She was born in Clay County, on April 21, 1932, the daughter of Herman and Sarah Madden Ball. She is survived by her husband, Eugene Edwards of Booneville; a son, Wendell (& Zella) Edwards, Booneville, Kentucky; a daughter, Caroline E. Little of Campton, Kentucky; her mother, Sarah Ball of Booneville, Kentucky; Caroline’s special friend, Bradford Bryant of Campton, Kentucky; former son-in-law, Roy Lee Little of Booneville, Kentucky; a brother, Mendle Ball, Booneville, Kentucky; and a sister, Lola Southard of London, Kentucky. Booneville, KY – Evalee Edwards, 82, widow of Paul Edwards, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2008, at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, KY. Evalee was born in Breathitt County, KY on July 25, 1926, to the late Letcher and Myrtle Turner Thompson. She was a former waitress, a homemaker and a member of the Anglin Branch Baptist Church and Eastern Star. She is survived by three sons, Marcus (& Stella) Edwards of Booneville, KY, David Noble of Jackson Co., KY and Gary Noble of Booneville, KY; a daughter, Paula (& James) Dooley of Booneville, KY; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Wilma Rule of Stanton, KY, Ruby Riley of Wolfe County, KY, Ruth Sebastian of Booneville, KY and Shirley Bowman of Breathitt County, KY; and a host of friends and relatives. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil, Phillip and Benny Thompson; a grandchild and a great grandchild. Freddie Edwards, 86, of Manchester, KY, passed away Wednesday, January 12th, at his home. Freddie was born in Island City, KY on April 19, 1935, a son of the late Luther and Lucy Becknell Edwards. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Edwards. Freddie is survived by his daughter, Tammy Edwards of Frankfort. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Brittany Edwards, Brandon Edwards, and Donovan Edwards; and his great-grandchildren: Rylen Edwards, Ally Hoskins, Jackson Hoskins, Bentley McQueen, Jaylynn Edwards, Raelynn Edwards, Atreus Edwards, and Jaxton Edwards. Edwards, Gary Wayne

Gary Wayne Edwards, 62, of Connersville, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, August 21, 2014, surrounded by his loving family, at Fayette Regional Health System following a ten-year battle with cancer. One of seven children, he was born February 17, 1952 in Connersville, the son of Carl (*son of William Bradley & Nannie Seale Edwards) and Bessie Wilson (*daughter of Robert Tye & Kate Wilson) Edwards and was a 1970 graduate of Connersville High School. On August 19, 1972, he was married in St. Gabriel Church to Helen Rose Risch of Connersville. He was employed at Philco-Ford and later at D then, he became associated with the parts business by becoming employed at White Implements, which later became Dickman & Sons Implements ultimately he became manager of Wells Auto Parts and, for last thirty years, along with his wife, they owned and operated Central Auto Parts. A member of St. Gabriel Church and Knights of Columbus Council #861, he was also a member of the Connersville Moose Lodge. He enjoyed racing Dirt Flat Drags throughout the area and was an avid coon hunter; he enjoyed spending time with his family and the fellowship every day with his regular customers where he was known as a 'wheeler and dealer'. Survivors include his wife of forty-two years, Helen Edwards, three children, Lisa Ann Edwards and her companion Josh Copeland, John David Edwards and his friend Donita Jones and Catherine 'Cathy' Mae Gettinger and her husband Chad, all of Connersville, six grandchildren, Wyatt Wayne, Addisyn Rose and Kane Alan Gettinger, Dylann Paige Edwards, Haley Alexandra Jones and Joshua Allen Copeland, six brothers and sisters, Norma Jackson and Patricia 'Patsy' Price, both of Connersville, Robert 'Bobby' Edwards of Rushville, Indiana, Barry Edwards and his wife Brenda of Liberty, Indiana, Timothy 'Timmy' Edwards of Connersville and Kimberly 'Kate' Pope and her husband Mike of Blooming Grove, Indiana, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by Helens family, nine brothers and sisters-in-law, Shirley Wise and her husband Kevin and Joann Borders and her husband Kerry, both of Connersville, Eddie Risch of Romney, Indiana, Karen Lippincott and her husband Mark of Milton, Indiana, Lois Risch of Colorado, Nancy Barr, Lowell Risch, Judy Smith and her husband Randy and Rosemary Brown and her husband Mark, all of Connersville. Howard E. Edwards, 78, of Rushville, passed away January 25, 2015 in Rushville. He was born April 27, 1936 in Metamora to Finley {* son of William H. & Winnie Bishop Edwards} & Martha Mae (Sizemore) {* daughter of John Taylor & Mary Mattingly Sizemore} Edwards. Howard was a 1954 graduate of Brookville High School. He was married many years to Belva "Buddie" Hunter, she preceded him in death in May of 2010. Howard retired in 1986 from Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis where he had worked for over 30 years. He was a member of the the UAW Local #1111 in Indianapolis. Howard enjoyed bowling, softball & cheering on the Cincinnati Reds. Edwards, Judi Kay Stacy

Judi Kay Edwards, age 74 of Metamora, Indiana passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born on Christmas Day 1940 to Gordon & Thelma (Reynolds) Stacy in New Baltimore, Ohio. The 1958 Batesville High School graduate married Clifford Edwards {* son of Finley & Martha Mae Sizemore Edwards} at Elm Grove Baptist Church in Metamora, IN on October 10, 1959. Judi worked for over 27 years at the Batesville Middle School, retiring in 2003 as their media clerk. She was a faithful member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church. Judi enjoyed working on the family farm and at the rental property. She did vegetable and flower gardening and liked reading (especially the Bible). Judi was quite into video recording, photography and working on her computer, she basically loved all telecommunications. She loved working with her coworkers at Batesville Middle School and all the media center student assistants and parent volunteers where she was able to make a positive impact on many. Judi played the piano and sang with the Elm Grove Quartet as well as other family and friends. She enjoyed many roles with her Elm Grove Baptist Church family including WMU director, youth group teacher and leader, girls summer cabin counselor at Highland Lakes Camp, creating the church newsletter, nursing home ministry, teaching the women’s Sunday school class, church clerk and participating in VBS in different roles every summer. Another favorite was cooking and hosting family and friends in her home. Judi was part of a Home Ec Club with other Batesville area mothers. Traveling and planning special vacations and outings with her grandchildren and children was something she especially loved. Other things Judi enjoyed were sewing, quilting, doing genealogy and playing board games, even starting an annual Christmas Bingo. Last of all she likes to go shopping with her family and friends to the mall, thrift stores, garage sales and especially the Sale Barn in Brookville, where she started going with her Grandma Jessie as a little girl. Judi will be dearly missed by her husband Clifford, daughter Staci (Shane) Schroeder; 3 sons Monty Edwards, Ric T. (Meg) Edwards, and Randy S. (Tonia) Edwards; 13 grandchildren, Chelsey, Zachary, Jacob & Jordan Edwards, Madeline, Meredith & Mallory Edwards, Grant, Ford, Blake & Laura Edwards and Luke & Chloe Schroeder; along with 2 sisters Shirley (David) Demarco and Carolyn (Gary) Morgan; plus several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Gary Stacy, his wife Rita survives. Edwards, Julius "Jack"

Julius “Jack” Edwards age 84 of Connersville passed away Tuesday Sept. 14, 2010 at Heritage House of Connersville. He was born February 14, 1926 in Owsley County, KY the son of the late Willie and Annis McKinney Edwards. Jack served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and was on board the USS Shoshone. He received two bronze stars. Following his time in the service he was employed with Fisher Body in Cincinnati until he came to Connersville in the early 1950’s where he was employed with Rex Manufacturing, Philco and Ford Electronics and Refrigeration for 39 years until retirement in 1986. He was an avid bowler, bowling on several leagues for many years and was well known as a singer and guitarist with local bands for many years. He also enjoyed gardening and fishing. He is survived by his wife Doris Brumley Edwards to whom he was married June 13, 1952 in Connersville. He is also survived by two daughters and sons in law, Marilyn & Rodney Kemp, Connersville; and Tammie & David Sullivan, Connersville; two grandchildren Kelly & Michael Logan, New Castle and Tyler Kemp, Connersville; and three great grandchildren Cody Campbell; Savannah Logan; and Isabelle Logan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Leon Edwards, age 62, of Sextons Creek, passed away Tuesday at the U. K. Medical Center in Lexington. He was a United States Army Veteran and a retired employee of Ford Motor Company. He was preceded in death by his parents: Leonard and Ellen (Scott) Edwards. He is survived by his wife: Mildred Gross Edwards and one daughter: Charity Lunsford and husband, Donald Wayne of Burning Springs. He is also survived by two grandsons; Matthew and Jacob Lunsford, also of Burning Springs along with 2 sisters: Imogene Turner of Kings Mill, Ohio and Glenn Eva Burns of Sextons Creek, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Cincinnati, OH – Lonnie Wayne Edwards, 57, passed away at his residence suddenly. He was a Vietnam veteran and worked for the TIP Trucking Company. Born at Oneida, KY on December 8, 1950, he was the son of Henry & Dessie Williams Edwards. He is survived by his wife, Verna Brinson Edwards, a son, Chad Edwards, and a daughter Melissa Motz, all of Blue Ash, OH; four sisters, Beulah Davidson, Oneida, KY, Nadine Burch and Margaret Burch, both of Booneville, KY and Carolena Cook of Monroe, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gwendolyn Gabbard and a brother, Johnny Edwards. He was also preceded in death by a nephew. Edwards, Robert Carl

Robert Carl Edwards, 68, of Connersville passed away Thursday afternoon, January 14, 2016 at his home. He was under a physcians care, his death was due to natural causes. He was born October 21, 1947 in Richmond, KY, one of seven children of Carl and Bessie Wilson Edwards and as a child, he came to Connersville with his family for residence. He attended Connersville Schools. In November 1968, he was married in Connersville to Connie Lou Kinnaman. Mrs. Edwards passed away August 19, 2000. He had worked in the logging industry and had been employed at D & M. For several years, he had also been employed and retired from Kenauf in Shelbyville, IN. He was a member of the Everton Southern Baptist Church. He enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, mushrooming and flat drags and was a Dallas Cowboys Fan. Survivors include five children, Robert C. Elkins, Harold

Harold Elkins, 73, of Huntsville passed away Monday at a local hospital. Mr. Elkins was born in Booneville, Ky. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958. He was a resident of Lexington, Ky., from 1959 through 1976. He was employed at Lexington Blue Grass Army Depot. In 1976, he transferred to Huntsville and was employed by U.S. Army TMDE Activity until his retirement in 1991. Throughout his civil service career, he traveled extensively to Europe and Asia. Survivors include his wife, Mary Hungate Elkins; daughter, Mary Marcia Elkins of Huntsville; sisters, Genevieve Long and husband Jack of Booneville and Dianna Hensley and husband Ralph of Paris, Ky.; brothers, Robert Glenn Elkins and wife Leona of Tampa, Fla., and Russell Wayne Elkins and wife Sue of Booneville; and several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Estelle Abshear Elkins, and brothers, Thomas Elkins and Johnny Green Elkins. Booneville, KY - Johnny Green Elkins, 73, was born February 27, 1933, to Moses Elkins and Estelle Abshear Elkins in Akron, Ohio and passed away Friday, February 2, 2007 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY, after an extended illness. Mr. Elkins served with the U. S. Army, a veteran of the Korean War, and later worked as a welder at the Blue Grass Ordinance in Winchester, KY. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Booneville, KY – Nancy Gabbard Ellis, 96, widow of George Samuel Ellis, passed away March 19, 2005 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Isaac Hugh and Elizabeth Eversole Gabbard, born on Cow Creek May 24, 1908. Before retiring at age 85, she worked at the Senior Citizen Center and was a teacher’s aide for the K.I.P. program. She was a member of the Booneville Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one son, Thomas Ellis and his wife Bobbie of Denton, Texas; one daughter, Elizabeth Ellis; two grandchildren, Scott Ollis and Robin Hahn; and two great- grandchildren, Ruby Ollis and Christopher Watkins, all of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Michael Gabbard and his wife Marjorie; one sister, Louise Ferdig; and one sister-in-law, Naomi Gabbard, all of Booneville; six nieces and five nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. Betty Lou Enz, age 68 of Middletown, passed away on Saturday March 17, 2018 at Bickford Senior Living. She was born on July 3, 1949 in Hamilton, the daughter of the late Luke [son of John W. & Nannie Burch Edwards] and Doris Marie (Taylor) [daughter of William & Lucy Taylor] Edwards. On October 10, 1970 she married Gary Donald Enz and he preceded her in death on May 6, 2004. Betty graduated from Ross High School class of 1967 and furthered her education at Miami University where she received her Master’s degree. She was previously employed with Union Central as a System Analyst. Ernstes, Bertha Mae Hacker

Bertha Mae Ernstes, age 85 of Morris, formerly of New Point, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at her home. Born on August 10, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Harvey [*son of Frank and Mary Jane Gilbert Hacker, born Teges, KY, in Owsley Co. 1920 census] and Virginia (nee: McPherson) [*daughter of John Steven & Dora Ellen Hale McPherson] Hacker. Bertha was a homemaker and enjoyed time baking and cooking. A member of New Point Christian Church, she loved her God, as well as spending time with her family, especially her many grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Virginia (Bob) Maple of Morris and Helen Louise Young of Greensburg; two sons, Michael (Sharon) Collins of California and Buford Collins Jr. of Texas; as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ms. Rita Joann Estepp, 89, passed away at her residence in Booneville following a long illness. She was born on September 25, 1930 in Owsley County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Samuel & Callie Abshear Estepp. She was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Estepp is survived by several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Richmond, KY – Margie Moore Estes, 60, of North Third Street, Richmond, died Monday morning, May 30, in Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. She was born on June 16, 1944, in Owsley County, the daughter of the late Samuel and Dora Moore. In 1966, while working as a waitress at the Colonel Drive-in in Richmond, she was the only resident honored to be given in marriage by Colonel Harlan Sanders. An excellent housekeeper, she enjoyed playing bingo in the community room of the Richmond Manor and caring for her dog and companion, "Biggsbee." She was preceded in death by: one daughter, Dawn Star Estes; one brother, Joseph Moore; and one sister, Rosalee Cruse. Estes, Orval "Buster"

Orval “Buster” Estes, 80, of Everton went home to be with his Lord Wednesday evening, February 2, 2022. One of ten children of Sherman and Clora White Estes, Orval was born in Lee County, Kentucky on March 12, 1941 and graduated from Lee County High School with the class of 1957. On February 14, 1959, Orval married the former Myrtle Roberts [* daughter of Elihu & Lydia Reed Roberts] in Lawrenceburg, Indiana and they made Everton their home in 1963. Mrs. Estes passed away on July 9, 2016. For many years, Orval and his wife farmed in rural Fayette and Union Counties. He also was employed as a semi-tractor trailer operator for Design and Manufacturing for 33 years and previously helped build the Mountain Parkway in Kentucky with S.J. Groves and Son Construction Company. Orval was a charter member of Connersville Baptist Temple and in his leisure time enjoyed working on the family farm and raising his garden. He also enjoyed listening to Christian music and with his wife, spending winters in Florida. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Estes Raymond-Diaz of Everton and husband, Francisco Raymond-Diaz, a native of Cuba; a son, Nino Michael Estes and wife, Amy, of Zionsville, Indiana; three grandchildren, Victor Gerad (Sarah) Roberts, of Connersville, Cole Estes and Emma Estes, both of Zionsville, Indiana; a great-grandson, Elijah Mac Roberts, of Connersville; three brothers, Larry Joe Estes, Eugene Estes, both of Old Landing, Kentucky, and Wallace(Nancy) Estes of Chattanooga, Tennessee; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Darrell Evans, husband of Brenda Thompson Evans, passed away Monday, December 27th, 2010, at his residence. Darrell was a 63 year old native of Owsley Co. He was born May 20, 1947, to the union of the late Florie (Burns) and Morris Evans. He was a retired track inspector for CSX Railroad, and was an avid Ford Mustang enthusiast who enjoyed car shows. Evans, Deborah Lynch

Deborah Evans, 66, died Monday, March 20, 2023 at Reid Health in Richmond. Debbie was born October 14, 1956 to Elmo [*son of Wiley Ishmael & Allie Lynch] and Marilyn Drew Lynch in Connersville, and later attended Connersville High School. On November 26, 1986, Debbie married the love of her life, Danny Evans; together they shared thirty-five years prior to his death on April 30, 2022. She was employed at Visteon but spent most of her years as a homemaker. Debbie enjoyed watching college basketball, especially IU and cheering on the Colts. She and Danny spent many year perfecting their woodworking skills. In addition, they shared a love of classic cars and attended every car show possible. Debbie was an avid animal lover, with a special place in her heart for cats. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, friends and her husband Danny. She is survived by her brothers: David B. Lynch and his wife Mary, Bradley Lynch; Cousins: Karen Hudson, Angela Hudson; special friend: Kelly Mullins; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to mention. Delmas Junior Evans, age 72 of Hamilton, passed away at Mercy Hospital on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 12:55 PM. He was born in Owsley County on September 12, 1943 the son of Theodore and Bessie (Whicker) Evans. Delmas retired as a custodian for Hamilton City Schools. He is survived by wife, Jane Evans of Hamilton; one daughter, Angie (Phil) Davidson; two granddaughters, Evalyn and Kadie Davidson, all of Hamilton; one sister, Glenna (Tommy) Partin of Mt. Orab, Ohio; his mother-in-law, Evalyn Puckett of Hamilton; and his faithful companion, Zippy. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Robert Evans. Mr. Donald Michael Evans, 56, passed away May 29th 2013 in Jackson, KY, following an auto accident. He was born November 14th, 1956 in Anchorage, Alaska and was the son of Donnie Evans and Betty Lou Maloney and was a coal miner. Mr. Evans is survived by one son, Gary Michael Evans of Booneville, KY, two daughters: Ms. Rebecca Evans and Ms. Pamela Evans both of Powell County, KY, five grandchildren, and his father, Mr. Donnie Evans of Booneville, KY, one brother Mr. Myron Elmer Evans of Paintsville, KY and one sister, Mrs. Marsha Cook of Beattyville, KY. Ernest Clyde Evans, 47, of 209 Honeysuckle Lane, husband of Debbie Evans, died Wednesday (August 18, 2004) at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. A native of Madison County, he was the son of Blanche Pendergrass Evans and the late Clyde Evans. He was a contractor and a member and deacon of Calvary Christian Church. He was an assistant coach of the George Rogers Clark High School baseball team, a member of the board of directors for the Winchester Little League Association and a member of the GWRRA Riders, Mt. Beattyville, KY – Fannie Bell “Penny” Isaacs Caudell Evans, 81, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2008, at the Lee County Care & Rehab Center. Fannie was born in Owsley County, KY, on November 8, 1927, the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Rissie Ross Jackson. She was a former homemaker, a member of the Church of Christ in Lee County, KY and loved to quilt. Florie (Burns) Evans, 81, beloved wife of Charles Evans, passed away Monday, July 23, 2007, at the Marcum Wallace Hospital in Irvine, KY. Mrs. Frances Evans, 84, passed away Jan 7, 2011 at the OCHCC following a long illness. She was born May 30, 1926 in Owsley County, KY, was the daughter of the late Burgoyne and Nellie Brandenburg Botner, was the widow of Edd Evans, was a homemaker and mail carrier and was a member of the United Methodist Church. Ms. Evans is survived by a host of nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Burgoyne & Nellie Botner, husband, Edd Evans, Stepson, Sergeant Gary Lee Evans, two brothers: Herman & Willard Botner and three sisters: Reba Barker, Kathleen Smith and Wilma Williams. Gerald Evans, 84, of Connersville, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Premier Health in Connersville, Indiana. He was born on April 14, 1933, in Batesville, Indiana and is the son of Malcom Evans and Sarah Creech Evans [Malcom Evans s/o Jesse & Elizabeth Hall Evans, Sarah Creech d/o Samuel B. & Serena Ann Marion Creech]. He served for two years as a private first class with the United States Army. On June 26, 1986, he married his wife Sharron Beebe in Jellico, TN. They shared over thirty years together. Gerald retired in 1995 after 44 years at Visteon. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, and gardening. Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Eugenia (Rob) Wisby, of Millersburg, OH; four step-children, Belinda Bergen, of Connersville, Misha Bergen, of Monticello, Bret Bergen, of Connersville, and Jeremy Bergen, of Connersville; a brother, Robert (Peggy) Evans, of Connersville; a sister, Ramona Burns, of Bloomington; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Alford and Bonnie Cameron, and three brothers, Sam Evans, Arthur Evans, and James Evans. EVANS, HELEN LOUISE, 65, Booneville, KY passed away November 25, 2023 in Richmond, KY. She was born on May 25, 1958 in Lexington, KY. Helen was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and companion. Helen had a vibrant personality and a deep love for nature. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly tending to her beloved flower beds and fishing. Her passion for flowers was evident in the beautiful spaces she created. Helen also took pride in her cats and cherished their companionship. Retirement brought her much joy and fulfillment. Helen is survived by her precious little Daddy, Howard Evans, at the age of 99. Helen leaves behind her sister, Mary Best; brother, Howard Lee Evans; nephew, Travis Best. She also had a close bond with her companion, Stanley Chadwell; his sister, Kelly Woodford; brother, Roger Chadwell; family friend Carl Lacey. Helen held a special place in her heart for Edna Stewart, Laura Grace Gay and Ada Willis, who were dear friends to her. She also had a large extended family, including numerous friends. Helen’s educational journey included attending Owsley County High School and Eastern Kentucky University. She was a high school graduate and briefly attended Eastern Kentucky University College. For over 35 years, Helen dedicated herself to her career at Mountain Comp in Owsley County as a medical records clerk and receptionist. Her commitment and professionalism were greatly appreciated by her colleagues and the community. Helen was a lifetime member of the Beattyville First Church of God, where she worshipped faithfully. Her faith provided her with strength and comfort throughout her life. In her spare time, Helen indulged in her hobbies, which included sewing, working with flowers, fishing and other various outdoor projects. Her beautiful roses were a testament to her gardening skills and passion for nature. Louisville, KY – James R. Evans 65, formerly of Hamilton, OH, passed away at his residence, Saturday, March 14, 1998. He was born March 4, 1933, in Owsley County, the son of Theodore Delmas and Bessie Ann (Whicker) Evans. He is a retired veteran of the United States Air Force and the Ohio National Guard, serving from 1953 through 1990. He was employed as an auditor for Ohio Casualty Insurance Company for 19 years, retiring in 1995. James was a member and past Treasurer of the Boaz Masonic Lodge # 850, the Victory Chapter Order of Eastern Star # 447, and the Scottish Rite, all of Louisville, and the Hillbilly Clan # 31 of Oleika Temple in Lexington, KY. On July 12, 1952 in Booneville, KY, he married Shirley McIntyre. He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Louisville: one son, Jimmie D. Evans and his wife, Tawny of Mascoutah, ILL; two daughters, Gwendolyn Thompson of Louisville and Regina Harley of Hamilton, OH; one brother, Delmas “Jr.” Evans and wife, Jane and one sister, Glenna Partin, both of Hamilton: three grandchildren, Amber A. and December N. Haley and Jeremy R. Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents. Evans, Leroy "Red"

Leroy “Red” Evans, age 92, of Brookville, Indiana died Thursday May 14, 2015 at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio. Born May 12, 1923 in Jackson County, Kentucky he was the son of the late Sylvester {* son of William Henry & Lucy Ann Reynolds Evans} & Lillie (Bishop) Evans. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, having served with the 515th Parachute Infantry as a Paratrooper & Medic. On December 18, 1947 he was united in marriage to the former Reba G. Pennington, and she preceded him in death on February 24, 2012. He was retired from the Franklin County Highway Dept., and had also worked in several factories. He was a member of the Valley Christian Church in Brookville, the Brookville Harmony Masonic Lodge #11 F. & A.M., as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wilbur Dennison Post #2014 of Brookville, Indiana. In his leisure time Red enjoyed camping, fishing, and telling stories and having a good time. He always wanted those around him to be in a good mood, so he would always do what he could to entertain everyone. He was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcat fan, although he was disappointed they didn’t win the tournament this year! LINDA DARLENE EVANS, 68, passed away September 1, 2022 at the Owsley County Health Care Center following a long illness. She was born March 3, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Earl & Pearl Burch Carmack and was the wife of Howard Lee Evans. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Elk Lick Baptist Church. Mrs. Evans is survived by her loving husband of over 36 years: Mr. Howard Lee Evans of Booneville, Kentucky; three sisters: Mrs. Sherry Citarella & husband Anthony of Cincinnati, OH, Mrs. Patricia Young & husband Gordon of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Mrs. Deborah Smith of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers: Mr. Jeff Carmack of Booneville, KY, Mr. Greg Carmack & wife Barbara of Cincinnati, OH and there are several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Evans, Linda Inez

Mrs. Linda Inez Evans, 65, passed away January 30, 2013 at the Owsley County Health Care Center following a brief illness. She was born June 29, 1947 in Oneida, KY, was the daughter of the late Landolph Thomas Georgia Allen, was the widow of Samuel Evans, was a homemaker and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Island City, KY. Linda is survived by one son: Mr. David Evans & his companion Melissa of Island City, KY; three grand-children: Tanner & Austin Evans and Frankie Jo Baldwin all of Island City, KY, her mother, Mrs. Georgia Wilson of Booneville, KY, one sister: Mrs. Betty Sebastian & husband Harold of Booneville, KY, three nephews: Shon, Harold & wife Candace and Justin Sebastian & wife Megan, and six great nieces and nephews: Eaten, Hanna, Hayden, Trent, Sydney & Preston. Evans, Maxine Begley

Maxine Evans 88, left her footprint in time May 19, 2017. She was the adoring wife of Clarence for 54 wonderful years. "Max" was born in Beattyville, KY Christmas Day 1928 to Eugenia and Roscoe Begley. The oldest of three, her childhood was shared with brother Howard, sister Ursa and cousins Mildred, Bert and Russell Turner. Max spent much of her life working a farm in Germantown, OH, proving herself the perfect homemaker. There she spent "the happiest time of my life" canning vegetables, planting flowers and nurturing her only son Glenn. As a Hunter resident, she became the neighborhood children's second mother and regular sitter. She is survived by her loving sister, her son and daughter-in-law Joy, sister-in-law Virginia (Hamilton) Begley, nieces and nephews, best friends Doris Grant and Maudie Phipps, caregiver Karen Dorf, and all those who loved and will miss her. Mrs. Mildred Louise Evans, 89, passed away July 13, 2016 at her residence following a long illness. She was born November 25, 1926 in Lee County, KY, was the daughter of the late George & Dixie Crabtree Booth, was the wife of Howard Evans, was a homemaker and was a member of the Beattyville First Church of God. Mrs. Evans is survived by her loving husband of 66 years: Mr. Howard Evans of Booneville, KY, one son: Mr. Howard Lee Evans & wife Linda of Booneville, KY, three daughters: Ms. Helen Evans; Mrs. Linda Chadwell & husband Stanley of Booneville, KY and Mrs. Mary Best of Beattyville, KY. Shirley Louise Evans, age 79 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Monday, September 19, 2016. Shirley was born in Owsley County, KY on June 20, 1937 to Fred and Cynthia (Hall) McIntire. On July 12, 1952 in Kentucky she married James Evans who preceded her in death on March 14, 1998. Shirley was a life member of the Victory Chapter #447 Eastern Star in Louisville, KY. Shirley is survived by her children, Regina Sortman, and Jimmie (Eneida) Evans; 3 grandchildren, Amber Scalf, December Pennekamp, and Jeremy Evans; 3 great grandchildren, Haylee, Logyn, and Tristyn. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Evans; a daughter, Gwen Thompson; 11 siblings; and her parents. Lexington, KY – Wilbert Hall "Tib" Evans, 81, of Longview Drive, formerly of Owsley County, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 15, 2005 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Mr. Evans was born in Booneville, Kentucky, on August 26, 1923, the son of the late Elmer and Birdie Hall Evans. He was a former salesman for the Don Meyers Shoe Company in Lexington, Kentucky, a retired U. S. Army Veteran, having served in WW II, and a member of the Porter Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Chaney Evans of Lexington, Kentucky; a brother, Donnie Evans of Booneville, Kentucky; three sisters, Ruth Combs of Lexington, Kentucky, Ruby Morgan of Pebworth, Kentucky and Wilma Marshall of Booneville, Kentucky; and a host of friends and relatives. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Clarence Evans and a sister, Erma Duff. Funeral services were held on Sunday evening, at the funeral home from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Evans, William Earl "Bill"

William Earl “Bill” Evans, the husband of 53 years to Shirley Ann Caudill Evans of Beattyville, Kentucky and the son of the late Josiah and Fannie Angel Evans was born on May 13, 1940 and departed this life Friday, March 6, 2020 in Lexington, Kentucky at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 23 days. Bill was retired from Southside Water, but could never say no when someone called in need. His favorite days were filled with hours of phone conversations about politics and UK and Michigan basketball with a special nephew, Bubby Gee. Bill was a member and board member of the Beattyville Church of God. Booneville, KY - Maude H. Wilson Evanshine, 90, of Eastside Apts., passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008 at her residence. She was a member of the Booneville United Methodist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Evanshine died peacefully at home. She was born on April 26, 1912 in Owsley County, KY to the late Edward A. Wilson and Callie E. Seale Wilson and was the widow of Edwin L. Evanshine. She is survived by several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Mae V. Eve, Clarence Robert

Mr. Clarence Robert Eve, age 81, of Georgetown, Kentucky, entered this life on November 2, 1931, in Owsley County, Kentucky, the loving son of the late, Willie & Roxie (Rowland) Eve. Clarence was raised in Austin, Indiana, where he was a 1951 graduate of Austin High School. Clarence was inducted into the United States Navy on February 20, 1954, in King's Port, Tennesse, rising to the rank of Yeoman First Class, serving during the Vietnam War & was honorable discharged on August 1, 1977, in Amarillo, Texas, after 23 years, 5 months & 1 day of service. Clarence was united in marriage on June 14, 1957, in Austin, Indiana, to Thelma Joyce May & to this union arrived three sons & one daughter to bless their home. Clarence & Thelma enjoyed nearly 56 years of marriage together until his death. Clarence formerly worked in Security at the Jefferson Proving Grounds, for 16 years. Clarence was a former employee at the Pinkerton Security at the Overbrook Farm in Lexington, Kentucky, for 5 years. Clarence resided the past 15 years in Georgetown, Kentucky. Clarence will be remembered for his love of watching baseball, enjoying music, playing Chess & Scrabble. Clarence died at 12:00 pm, Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Eversole, Clyde

Booneville, KY – Clyde Eversole, 92, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, KY, after a long illness. Clyde was born June 15, 1915, in Owsley County, KY, to the late Seaber and Nettie Callahan Eversole. He was a former farmer and was known for his love and collection of motorcycles. He was remembered as owning and riding the first motorcycle in Owsley County. Survivors include three sisters, Marie McKinney of Irvine, KY and Lela (& Dale Bishop) and Geneva Mason, both of Booneville, KY; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and relatives. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Roy Mason and a nephew, Gary Mason. Funeral services were held Friday, May 2, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Powlas officiating. Visitation was held on Friday, beginning at 12:00 noon until time of service, at the funeral home. Joan Eversole age 63, of Eaton, OH, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Reid Hospital, Richmond, IN. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Evelyn and Johnny Shannon; and mother-in-law Gracie B. Eversole. She is survived by her husband Paul W. Mr. Kash Eversole, Jr., age 91, passed away July 14th, 2014 at the Hospice Care St. Elizabeth in Edgewood, KY, following a long illness. He was born March 16th, 1923 in Owsley County, KY, was the son of the late Kash Sr. and Lucy Baker Eversole, was the widower of Edna Stamper Eversole and Eula Bowling Eversole, was a retired school teacher, was a Veteran of WWII and was a member of the Cow Creek Presbyterian Church. Mr. Eversole is survived by one son; Mr. John Ed Eversole and wife Lora of Booneville, KY, one daughter; Mrs. Patricia Gayle Sebastian and husband Shelby of Florence, KY, four grandchildren: Mr. Chris Eversole, Mr. Jarrad Eversole, Mrs. Jenifer McGraph and Mr. Shawn Sebastian; six great grand-children and one stepson; Mr. Mick Sebastian of Frankfort, KY. Eversole, Margaret Reynolds

Margaret Reynolds Eversole, age 93, passed away at Mercy Hospital Fairfield on June 28, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was born Margaret Reynolds in Crockettsville, Kentucky on April 19, 1919. Her parents were Elihu (son of Jeremiah and Margaret Gabbard Reynolds) and Dora (Bowling) Reynolds. She was the only daughter and had eight brothers. Margaret inherited a love of school from her supportive parents and also from Witherspoon School in Buckhorn, Kentucky, affiliated with the Buckhorn Presbyterian Church. After graduating high school there she went on to Lees Junior College from which she graduated in two years and commenced her teaching career at age nineteen. During the war years she finished her Bachelors degree from the University of Kentucky. On May 24, 1947 she married James C. Eversole in a ceremony at the Buckhorn Presbyterian Church and they began living in Hazard, Kentucky, she teaching school and he working for the L & N Railroad. Margaret and Jim soon moved to Ohio to be near her parents and brothers as they were a close knit family. Jim finished college at Eastern Kentucky University and began teaching. Margaret earned a Masters degree from Xavier University, attending classes on Saturdays and during summers. Two sons were born to them, James and Cody. After living and teaching in Cincinnati, they settled in Hamilton and then built a house in Fairfield where they lived for the rest of their lives. Margaret taught for thirty years in Hamilton schools, mostly fifth grade and retired. The family attended Zion Lutheran Church in Hamilton. Margaret had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing hymns in church. She was also an accomplished pianist and liked to play at home. She passed on her love of learning and music to her sons. She was happiest just being home with her family and visiting close friends. During her later years her health suffered and she was taken care of at home by her sons. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and six of her brothers. She is survived by her sons James T. Eversole and Cody R. Eversole of Fairfield, Ohio and brothers Jack Reynolds of Lake City, Florida and Thomas K. Reynolds of Fairfield, Ohio. Visitation will be at Avance Funeral Home, Fairfield, Ohio on Tuesday, July 3, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Services follow at 1:00 PM at Avance with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery.
