Dalton, Juanita "Jean" McQueen

Juanita “Jean” Dalton, 82, of Greensburg, IN. has gone to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday December 9, 2012 at the Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg. She was born October 10, 1930 in Franklin, OH., the daughter of John R. and Della Mae (Reese) McQueen. She worked as a Cosmetologist in Ohio and was a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Odd Fellows Home here in Greensburg. She was a member of the Lake Santee Women’s Association, the Lions Club, and a member of the Trinity Baptist Church. Juanita loved travelling and being around water and enjoyed water recreation. She also enjoyed portrait painting, jewelry making, camping and cooking, she also had a love for music. She married Clarence H. Dalton on January 27, 1950 in Franklin, Ohio and he survives. Juanita is survived by two Daughters: Deborah (Robert) Brewer of Blowing Rock, N.C. and Linda (Frederick) Huber of Greensburg, IN.; one Son: Joe (Beverly) Dalton of Laurel, IN.; two Brothers: Charles O. McQueen of Carlisle, OH., and Paul Jr. McQueen of Middletown, OH. Six Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, one Sister: Janet Boggs, one Granddaughter: Amy Elizabeth Brewer and one Great Grandson: Bryce Dalton. Friends may call at the Trinity Baptist Church which is located on the corner of Broadway and Barachel Lane on Wednesday December 12, 2012 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. Dayton, OH – Sheila Taylor Dalton, 52, of Pensocola Blvd. Passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Kendrid Hospital in Dayton after a short illness. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Born in Middletown, Ohio on March 31, 1956, she was the daughter of Leo and Lucy Marshall Taylor. She is survived by her husband, Tony Dalton of Dayton; two sons, Adam Dalton of Miami Township, Ohio and Jeremy Dalton of West Carrolton, Ohio, her parents, Leo and Lucy Taylor and a brother, Randall L. Dalton, Una Jean Creech

Una Jean Dalton, 67, a long time Shelby County resident, passed away October 1, 2014 in Shelbyville. She was born November 5, 1946 in Owsley County, KY to Ben & Anna Mae (Peters) Creech, both deceased. Una worked as a QMA several years in Shelbyville & Morristown. She received her QMA degree from the University of Kentucky. She is survived by her sons, Charlie Conover of Shelbyville & Wayne Dalton of KY, a step daughter, Amber Dalton of KY, a brother, Ted Creech of KY, sisters, Jenny Maupin of McKee, KY and Anita Raider of Owsley Co., KY, previous husband, Jerry Wayne Dalton and 5 grandchildren. Daniel, Erena Spencer

Erena (nee: Spencer) Daniel, 85, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. Born July 18, 1935 in Lerose, KY to Everett and Laura (nee: Terry) Spencer, she was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Erena attended Family Life Church in Lebanon. She had been active with several area churches over the years acting as a pianist and organist and teaching Sunday School. She has acted as a youth pastor and was always a prayer leader. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Travis Daniel, one son, Gregory Daniel, and her brother, Lowen Spencer. She is survived by her son, Larry (Becky) Daniel of Monroe, her daughter, Erena Sue (Mike Amburgy) of Lebanon, her brother, Lester (Ann) Spencer of Lebanon, her sister, Sue (Lee) Beavers of Lebanon, her grandchildren, Meredith (Blake) Downey and Cassandra (Chris Kingery) Daniel and her great grandchildren, Graham Daniel Downey and Margot Oliva Downey. A private service will be held by the family. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mason, OH. The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service at a later date. Richmond, KY – Roscoe Daniel, 86, of Brassfield Road, Richmond, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 7, 2008. Mr. Daniel was born on March 5, 1922, in Owsley County, the son of the late Irvine and Lottie Gay Daniel. He was a farmer and retired postmaster at Mistletoe, Kentucky, a U. S. Veteran of WW II, having served in General Patton’s 3rd Army, and attended Faith Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Roscoe Mitchell Daniel, Jr. (Susan), Irvin Daniel (Gwyn) and Marvin Daniel (Tammy); three daughters, Charlene Daniel Graham (Billy), Phyllis Daniel Bowman and Linda Daniel Taylor (Greg) and their mother, Josephine Daniel; one brother, Preston Jennings Daniel; one sister, Mayme Henderson; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three children, Jennings Clay Daniel, Rachael Daniel and Joseph Daniel. Daniels, Mary Martha Gabbard

Mary Martha (Gabbard) Daniels, age 93, of Hamilton, OH passed away on August 30th, 2018, while in the care of The Bradford Place in Hamilton, OH and Hospice of Southwest Ohio. The family would like to thank the wonderful Nurses and Aids at The Bradford Place with a special thanks to Nicki, Sheila and Rebecca for their love and outstanding care they gave to our Mother every day, until her passing. These ladies at the Bradford Place, were a true blessing to our family and to our Mother. Mary was born on February 27th, 1925, in Sharonville, OH, the daughter of Jacob and Rissie (Wilson) Gabbard. On May 16, 1944 Luther married Mary Martha Gabbard in Covington, KY. Mary was a member of the Hamilton Church of God, she was a true Women of Faith and Christian, she loved God, being with her family and helping others. Mary provided elderly care to many patients for several years and took care of all of them like they were her own family. She sang country music for several years and even has a few of her own records, was on a weekly radio show and had the privilege of singing in Renfro Valley and on occasion at The Grand Ole Opry, with singing legends such as George Jones, Jerry Lee Lewis, Tammy Wynette, Carl Perkins and many more. Mary was a wonderful Wife and mother to six beautiful Children. One of her favorite things to say was "I never had any Ugly children". She was very adventurous and loved to tell us about the time she learned to fly an airplane and all of her other fun adventures. She loved to sing, yodel, garden, take care of her flowers, cook delicious meals, bake our many favorite things, make her crafts, sew, make quilts, shop, go for car rides, sit on the front porch with our Dad, see the fall leaves changing, travel, go thrift store and glass barn shopping and spend time with her many kids and grandchildren. Mary is survived by her Children, Barbara Hooker, married to Howard Hooker, Mike Daniels, married to Sharon Daniels, Thad Daniels, married to Ruth Daniels, Jason Daniels, married to Sandy Daniels, Son in law, Mike Kirby married to (Mary Katherine deceased) and Laura Wichern, married to Mark Wichern; Half Brother, Charles Gabbard. Emmett B. Daugherty, 74, the husband of Virginia Ruth Wilson Daugherty (*daughter of Robert and Opal Gabbard Wilson) of Beattyville, KY and the son of the late Lonnie and Lilah Ross Daugherty, was born in Lee Co. KY on Sept. 24, 1937 and departed this life at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY on Sat. July 28, 2012. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Theresa Daugherty Gabbard and husband Earl, Sherry Daugherty Frye and husband David all of Beattyville; 5 grandchildren, Alyssa Gabbard Lucas and husband Larry of Louisville, KY, Tarasita Lrae Gabbard and Candice Leigh Gabbard both of Richmond, KY, Shane David and Shaelyn Renae Frye both of Beattyville; 3 great grandchildren, Garrett, Gavin and Gianna; a beloved niece, Suzie Booth of Beattyville; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Reva Daugherty Mays, and two brothers, Elwood and Lonnie P. Daugherty. A notable citizen of Lee County, Emmett was a loyal employee of the Newnam Funeral Home in Beattyville for over 50 years. He was an Elder of the Beattyville Christian Church and served as chairman of the board for many years. He was a volunteer of the American Heart Association for over 25 years. He served on the board of Hospice Care Plus, the Lee County School Board, and helped organize the first Relay for Life in Lee County. Emmett served as the Lee Co. Coroner for over 35 years and was a volunteer at Faith Christian Camp. Like his mother before him, Emmett had a reputation as a wonderful cook. Virginia Ruth Wilson Daugherty, widow of Emmett B. Daugherty and the daughter of the late Robert O. and Opal Gabbard Wilson was born in Owsley County, Kentucky on July 16, 1936 and departed this life in Booneville, Kentucky on December 30, 2016 at the age of 80 years, 5 months, and 17 days. Ruth was a devoted member of the Beattyville Christian Church, worked for Selective Services until the end of the draft of the Vietnam War, and retired from Kentucky Green Thumb as Office Manager. Alma (Lynch) Davidson was born March 16, 1941 in Jackson County and departed this life Wednesday, April 08, 2020 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Berea, being 79 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Herman [son of William & Alice Young Lynch] & Martha (Maggard) Lynch. Alma is survived by two daughters, Vickie Kidwell of Franklin, OH and Kim Robinson of Tyner, KY. He is also survived by one sister Rosie Combs, 5 grandchldren, Justice Pernell, Remiah Pernell, Alexis Pernell, Julian Pernell, Kamarre Pernell, and one great grandchild Aurora Pernell, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is the daughter of the late Burt and Fannie (Bishop) Taylor. She is survived by the following children; Charles James (Tomya) Metcalf of West Harrison, Ohio, Cassie Ann (Michael) Callahan of Sunman, IN, Charlette Rose Ingle-McCarter of Greensburg, IN, Corrina Sue (Gary) Randolph of Manchester, Carolyn Elizabeth (Brian) Cox, Batavia, OH, Cynthia Tia (Will) Dreyer of Greensburg, IN, Cristal Maria (Jim) Roell of Wallingford, KY. Her brothers; William David Taylor of Independence, KY, Wiley Taylor of Texas, Henry Taylor of Batavia, OH, Everrett Taylor of Alexander, KY and Bobby Taylor of Independence, KY her sisters; Mary Jane Mace of Newport, KY and Bonnie Sue Robb of Falmouth, KY. Army veteran. Survivors include three sons, Carl (& Patricia) Davidson of Cincinnati, OH, Tony (& Patricia Jo) Davidson and Todd Davidson, both of Booneville, KY; two daughters, Wilma (& Michael) Collins and James Davidson, both of Cincinnati, OH; 18 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rick Davidson; his stepmother, Ameila Davidson; a brother, Herbert Davidson; and several stepbrothers. Linda Herald Davidson, age 93 of Manchester, Kentucky, the widow of the late Rev. John Henry Davidson, departed this life on Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Landmark of Laurel Creek surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Owsley County, Kentucky on Friday, September 4, 1925 to the union of Ben and Susie Turner Herald. She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Holiness faith. She was also a seamstress and a homemaker. Surviving are her two daughters: Geraldine Day (widow of the late Burchell Day) and Glinda Marcum and her husband Bobby all of Manchester. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren; Bobby Day and wife Michelle of London, Kentucky, Tammy Lawson and her husband Dewayne of Manchester and Robert Marcum and his wife Renee of Manchester, 7 great grandchildren: Whitley Combs, Ryan Day, Emily Marcum, Elivia Marcum, Haylee Day, Tazia Knox and Mackenzie Lawson, 1 great great granddaughter: Layla Rose. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband: Rev. Lloyd B. Davidson, of Brookville, was born on April 3, 1932 in Owsley County, Kentucky, a son to Elisha [son of Marion & Rebecca Mathis Davidson] and Oda McDaniel [daughter of John & Martha Smith McDaniel] Davidson. He served his country in the United States Army and later married Zola F. Reese on May 24, 1952 in Connersville. Lloyd worked for 43 years at Philco Ford and was a member of Pipe Creek Freewill Baptist Church. He loved gardening, bird-watching, fishing and playing bluegrass music. On Monday, August 10, 2020 at the age of 88, Lloyd passed away at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. Survivors include; one daughter, Jane (James) Henson of Brookville, and one son, Steve (Levan) Davidson of Dillsboro; 4 grandchildren, Marky Browning, Cathi (Tom) McNees, Themmy Nguyen, and Michelle Davidson; 3 great-grandchildren, Shawn and Tori Browning and Stephen Davidson; 8 step great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild, and one brother, Logan (Phyllis) Davidson of Brookville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; siblings, Jay, Elmer, and Harley as well as an infant sister, Ruth. Logan Davidson, age 76, of Brookville, Indiana died Sunday, September 25, 2022 at his residence in Brookville. On May 26, 1983 he was united in marriage to the former Phyllis Turner, and she survives. In his leisure time he enjoyed reading, spending time with his grandchildren, and holiday gatherings with his family. Davidson, Oscar

Oscar Davidson, 87, of Somerset, son of the late David white and Nannie Spurlock Davidson, of Clay County, KY, was born on May 10, 1925. He passed early Thursday morning in the Hospice Wing of Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center from complications of a 10 year battle with prostate cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Dotty Berry Davidson; one son, Bart (and Debbie) Davidson of Richmond, and; one daughter, Lavaun (and Tim) Zimmerman of Somerset, KY. Oscar also had; three grandchildren, Mary Beth Davidson of Richmond, Luke (and Lola) Davidson of Lexington, and Laura Leigh Zimmerman of Somerset. Oscar is also survived by many Nieces, Nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends who will miss him, yet will continue to feel his presence in their lives. To all of them, he would say “I love you.” Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by; two sisters, Stella Gay and Elsie Burns of Clay County, KY. Born in the family homestead on Little Bullskin Creek, near Oneida, Kentucky, Oscar traveled at the age 14 to the Berea College Foundation High School. While a senior there he volunteered with the U. S. Air Force in 1943, but was honorably discharged after a heart murmur was discovered following Boot Camp. After being discharged, he returned to Berea to continue his education, earning a B. A. in Business. After Berea, he attended the University of Kentucky, where he completed two years of graduate school in business administration. He started working with Swift and Company (now Con-Agra) before completing his masters. Oscar met Dotty during this time, who was attending Eastern Kentucky University. They were married in Danforth Chapel at Berea College on July 25, 1953. Oscar continued to work for Swift and Company for 37 years, retiring in 1986. Oscar was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Somerset, where he served as a Sunday School teacher of the senior men’s class. At the time of his passing, he was the oldest male member of the church. He was also a former trustee of Oneida Baptist Institute in Clay County, which was always near his heart. Very active in the Somerset Rotary Club until recent years, Oscar was a past-president and long time editor of “The Rotarian” the club’s newsletter. Oscar also received the Paul Harris Fellowship award while serving with Rotary for meeting high professional and personal standards. Oscar was well known for his wonderful sense of humor, was a friend to everyone he met. His great joy in life was interacting with people, and he once quipped that he “was equally comfortable talking with the janitors at Berea or the Queen of England.” He is already, and will continue to be, sorely missed by all those who had the good fortune to know him. Roy Davidson, Jr. was born August 14, 1949 in Clay County and departed this life Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington, being 66 years of age. He was the son of Datha (Peters) Davidson of Booneville and of the late Roy Davidson. In addition to his mother, Jr. is also survived by his wife, Geraldine (Madden) Davidson of Tyner; two children, Wesley Davidson and wife April of Lily and Tracy Rice and husband Harold Wayne of East Bernstadt and by three brothers, Alvin Davidson and wife Pam of Booneville, Donnie Ray Davidson and wife Brenda of South Lebanon, OH and Danny Lee Davidson and wife Patricia of Clay County. Alpha G. Davis, 98, of Roanoke, peacefully passed away, Saturday, Nov. 6th at her home. Born April 24, 1912 in Booneville, KY, daughter of Tilmon Green, Jr. and Eva A. Green. Margaret Louise (Edwards) Davis, 87 of Norcross, GA, formerly of Richmond, KY passed away March 5, 2012. Mrs. Davis was the widow of Woodrow Davis. Eunice Marie Day, age 81 of Connersville, passed away on Tuesday November 10, 2015 at her residence. Born on April 25, 1934 in Owsley County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Hillery and Nettie Strong Venable. On April 2, 1983 she married James E. Day in Connersville. Mr. Day survives. She retired from Ford Electronics in 1995 after twenty-eight years of service. In her leisure time she enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, baking and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Ruby Ann Couch Day, age 67, near Brooksburg, Indiana entered this life on May 11, 1945 in Mistletoe, Kentucky the loving daughter of the late, Estil & Ida Robertson Couch. Ruby attended Worthville School in Carroll County. She was baptized in 1962 at the White's Run Baptist Church where she is a member. Ruby was united into marriage to Emmett R. Day on June 23, 1962 in Carrollton, Kentucky. This happy union was blessed with two sons, Doug and Brian. Ruby was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, gardening, raising flowers, sewing and attending auctions. Ruby was employed with the Madison Consolidated School system for 27 years and had worked in the E.O. Muncie School Cafeteria as a cook. She had retired from the King's Daughters Hospital Hilltop Clinic as a housekeeper for 13 years. Ruby fought a hard battle with cancer. Ruby died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 7:30 a.m. at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Ruby will be missed by her husband of nearly fifty years: Emmett R. Dean, Bonnie Combs

Bonnie (Combs) Dean, 88, of Louisville went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012. She was born 2/24/1924 on Turkey Creek in Breathitt County, KY to the late Talton and Maggie Gabbard Combs. She was preceded in death by her husband Ledford Dean; her brother Roscoe Combs; her sisters Lucy Kraft, Mae Combs and Grace Rook. Bonnie is survived by her daughter Pat Tedford (Louisville, KY) and sons: Taylor Dean and his partner Betty McKinley (Collierville, TN). James Dean (Louisville, KY), Jesse Dean (Laughlin, Nevada), Ledford Dean, Jr. (Booneville, KY). Also surviving are four grandchildren: Lisa Michelle Dean, Jason Taylor Dean, Jeremy Ryan Dean (Glenda) and Jesse Dean, Jr. (Traci). Great grandchildren are: Jonah Eli Dean, Allie Grace Dean and Lillie Beth Dean. Surviving siblings are Edna McIntosh, Geneva Bramley (Ralph) and Hubert Combs (Nannie). Bonnie worked diligently most of her adult life at being the best mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife and homemaker that she could be and according to family she succeeded! On one occasion she worked outside the home as owner/operator of Dean's restaurant in Booneville, KY. On another occasion she worked for the Owsley County Board of Education as a cook for the school system. Despite these endeavors and a few others Bonnie's primary focus was family. Dean, Carl

Carl Dean, age 83 years, of Foster KY, departed this life Tuesday July 2 2013 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville, KY. He was born in Booneville, KY on October 14, 1929. He was the son of the late Bradley and Minnie Dean. Carl was a Purple Heart Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He also was a retired pipefitter for Interlake Steel in Newport, KY. Carl served as President of Local # 22 United Steelworkers of America. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 80 in Augusta, KY and Lodge # 916 in Silver Grove KY. Carl was a member of the Mains-Quinlin VFW Post 9535 in Augusta, KY. He was also a commissioned Kentucky Colonel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years Mila Rose (Turner) Dean. He was also preceded in death by two Sisters Hilda Dean and Virgie Dean Penagrass and one brother Earl Barrett. He is survived by his two sons Carl Wayne Dean (Jacqueline Brooks) of Augusta, KY and Ronald Dean (Christine) of Hurricane, WV. He was a farmer, attended the Scoville Church of God, and loved fishing. Mrs. Dessie Dean, 94, passed away July 1st, 2015 at the Providence Health Care Center of Gallatin County, KY following a long illness. She was born June 20th, 1921 in Owsley County, KY, was the daughter of the late Green and Rosella Jackson Bowman, was the widow of Brad Dean, was a homemaker and was a member of the Sugar Camp Baptist Church. Mrs. Dean is survived by two sons: Mr. Ernie Dean and wife Visie of Boonville, KY & Mr. Gary Dean & wife Shella of Vernon, KY, one daughter; Mrs. Gail Dooley & husband Randell of Verona, KY, 9 grandchildren & 29 great grandchildren, also surviving is one sister: Mrs. Faye Risner of Ocala, FL and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Green and Rosella Bowman, her husband; Brad Dean, one son; Earl William Barrett, four sisters and five brothers. Dean, Jesse

Jesse Dean, 66 of Laughlin, Nevada passed away on June 1st, 2014. Jesse was born August 11th, 1947 in Booneville, KY and attended Owsley County High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ledford and Bonnie Combs Dean and sister-in-law, Reba Byrd Dean. He is survived by his son Jesse Dean, Jr. and wife Tracy of Houston, Texas. Surviving siblings are: Pat Tedford, Louisville, KY; Dr. James Dean, Louisville, KY; Ledford Dean, Jr., Booneville, KY and Taylor J. Dean, Collierville, TN. Also surviving are nephews: Jason Taylor Dean and Jeremy Ryan Dean (Glenda). Niece Lisa Michelle Dean, great nieces, Allie Grace and Lillie Beth Dean (twins) and one great nephew, Jonah Eli Dean. Jesse joined the United States Navy when he was seventeen years of age and had a highly successful naval career serving over twenty-seven years and attaining the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer, the highest grade for an enlisted sailor. Jesse served on numerous ships and overseas assignments. His first sea duty assignment was to the Aircraft Carrier USS Hornet (CVS-12) and other noted assignments were to the Battleship USS New Jersey (BB-62) and the nuclear powered Aircraft Carrier USS Nimitz (CVN-68). Jesse served on several Amphibious Assault Ships, and while in Vietnam he served in the Brown Water Navy with duty on the River Patrol boats (PBR’s). Jesse was a highly decorated Vietnam War Veteran. He was a Hull Technician by trade, a certified Nuclear Welder and a Firefighter. In addition to his normal duties, he boxed for the U. S. Navy Boxing team. He was a member of the American Legion Laughlin Post # 60 in Nevada where he had many friends and volunteered to help out with various projects on a daily basis. Jesse was under Hospice Care for untreatable cancer when he passed. A funeral service will not be held as Jesse made arrangements for his cremains to be scattered at sea. Booneville, KY- Jo Ann Dean, age 80, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center, located in Hazard, KY. JoAnn was born December 10, 1942 in Booneville, KY, a daughter to the late Caleb Powers Allen, and Ruth (Hudson) Allen. She was a homemaker, and in her free-time she enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, and watching Golden Girls. She loved the Lord, and had a heart for ministry. She is survived by 1 daughter; Janet (Jackie) Little of Booneville, KY, 4 sisters; Donna Sparks, Wilma Gibson, Debra Allen, and Brenda Angel, 2 grandchildren; Jaclyn Smith & Jasmine Andersen, 3 great-grandchildren, and many other loving family members, and friends. Booneville, KY - Reba Dean, 54, formerly of Teges,(Clay Co.), born February 21, 1962, died November 8, 2006. She is survived by husband, Ledford Dean, Jr. of thirty-four years; a son, Jeremy Ryan Dean and wife, Glenda; three grand children, Jonah, Eli, Lillie Beth and Allie Grace; her mother, Ethel Ball Byrd; sisters, Cleda Chesnut, Sextons Creek and Irene Burns, Manchester; five brothers, Lenzie Byrd, South Lebanon, Ohio, Glenn Byrd, Dale Byrd, Donnie Ray Byrd and Rex Byrd, all of Teges; and many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde "Dude" Byrd; two sisters, and a brother. Reba worked for the Owsley County Home Health for 27 years, from which she had been retired for five years. Reba was a faithful life long member of church. She spent time working for God sowing seeds of Love and Kindness in her daily life. She will be greatly missed. Booneville, KY – Taylor Dean, 70, of Oxford, OH, passed away Friday, January 2, 2009 in Johnston, RI. Taylor was born in Hamilton, OH, on January 29, 1938, to the late Colson and Ruth (Wilder) Dean. He was a former production manager, and a United States Navy Veteran. He is survived by two sons; Donald (& Marisa) Dean of Attleboro, MA and Ryan (& Vanessa) Dean of Johnston, RI; a daughter, Lorie (& Bill) Brinck of Oxford, OH; five grandchildren; and a host of friends and other relatives. Also surviving are two brothers; Bill (& Janet) Dean of Hamilton, Oh and Russell Dean; two sisters, Jerrie (& Daly) Sandlin of Booneville, KY and Gloria Morris of Middletown, OH. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. Booneville, KY- Taylor J. Dean “Ted”, age 80, of Collierville, TN, passed away August 30, 2023 at Hospice Care Collierville, TN. Ted was born September 22, 1942 in Kings Mill, OH. He was a 1961 graduate of Owsley County School, in Booneville, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents; Ledford & Bonnie (Combs) Dean, and a brother; Master Chief Petty Officer Jesse Dean, US Navy Retired. He is survived by his longtime partner; Elizabeth M. McKinley, special families of Joanne (Allan), Jason, Alex (Dawn) Rodriguez of Collierville, TN, and Richard McKinley of Elizabethtown, KY, daughter; Tavia (Sean) Moynihan, grandsons; Micah & Ezra Russell of Clackamas, Oregon, 3 siblings; Pat Tedford of Louisville, KY, Dr. James Dean of Louisville, KY, and Ledford Dean Jr. of Booneville, KY, nieces & nephews; Lisa Dean, Jason (Belita) Dean of Louisville, KY, Ryan (Glenda) Dean of Booneville, KY, and Jess Dean Jr. (Tracy) of Houston, TX, and many other loving family members, and friends. Ted’s professional career consisted of US Air Force, and US Navy Military services, as well as employment with the Federal Government. He served 19 years overseas primarily on Independent Duty Assignments, and with Joint Military Commands. Some assignments included Cuba, Morocco, Eighth US Army/United Nations Command, Seoul, Korea, and joint US Military Advisory Group (JUSMAG) Bangkok, Thailand. His favorite assignment was a NATO facility on HMS Warrior in Northwood, England. Ted was selected as Sailor of the Year while stationed at Naval Communications Station, Spain. Ted served a tour on the staff of Commander, US Naval Forces, Vietnam, and a tour as an advisor at the Vietnamese Navy Shipyard, Saigon. His last duty assignment was with United Nations Command, Seoul Korea, J2, Photographic Interpretation Center, where he was one of the leading non-commissioned officers in the intelligence center. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer, United States Navy, and received numerous awards including; Joint Service Commendations, Navy Achievement Medals with Combat “V”, and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. Ted retired from his second career as a Technical Information Specialist at the Trident Submarine Refit Facility, Kings Bay, Georgia. During his retirement, he enjoyed viewing The Great Courses offered by the Teaching Company. He was a Master Mason with the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Scotland. Ted leaves us with a gift no person can take; He accepted Jesus as his savior, and was baptized. Two of Ted’s favorite charities were the Wounded Warrior Project, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She was a member of the Lerose Baptist Church and a retired legal secretary. Born on July 30, 1923 in Louin, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Annie Waldrup Hellen. Booneville, KY – Albert Deaton, 83, of HC 88, passed away at his residence on August 27, 2008 after a long illness. He was a World War II veteran, a retired farmer and a member of the Methodist Church. He was born on August 5, 1925, in Owsley County, to the late Dan and Mary Helton Deaton. He is survived by three sons, Dennis Deaton, Ricetown, KY, Kenneth Deaton, Winchester, KY and Floyd (& Robin) Deaton of London, OH; three daughters, Mary Lou (& Donald) McIntosh and Margie (& Jolly) Cooper of Booneville, KY and Kay (& Elmer Jr.) Taylor of Ricetown, KY; a brother, James Alfred Deaton, Booneville, KY; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Ada Deaton, 84, passed Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 at home. Born in Owsley County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Green and Marie Burns. She was a devoted wife and dedicated mother and grandmother to her boys. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John; sons, Melvin, Ron, Jim (Leslie) and Michael Deaton; brothers, Arcansas, Junior and Dellas; and grandson Jarrod. She was preceded in death by sisters, Grace Brown and Callie Mae Barrett; brothers, Arthur and Jesse Burns; and daughter in law, Marilyn. Bernie N. Deaton, a retired employee of Western Electric Co., Baltimore, and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 9:51 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 1996, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 84 and a native of Kentucky. Visiting was held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., 5:30 p.m. until religious services at 7:30 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Philip R. Yoho. Interment in Gabbard Cemetery, Widecreek, Ky., on Thursday. Survived by wife, Katherine T. Deaton; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert J. and Mary W. Deaton, Genevieve Combs

Genevieve Deaton, age 84, formerly of Connersville, passed away on March 8, 2022, in Rushville. She was on of 10 children born to the late George and Ocre Lynch Combs on October 3, 1937, in Vincent, Kentucky. Genevieve had worked at Ford/Visteon for three years. She enjoyed fishing, going to yard sales and flea markets, and listening to bluegrass and Christian music. She enjoyed crafts and loved to make quilts, sewing and redoing furniture. She could take something old and ugly and make it shiny and new. Genevieve loved her dog, Bill. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Becky Cox, Rose MacDonald, Roger Cook, Matthew Johnson, Connie Reno and Billie Combs, as well as many others scattered throughout Indiana and Kentucky. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her nine siblings, Orear, Russell, Bedford, Eugene, Jack and Billie Combs, Elda Cook, Mary Hines, and Leona Craft. He was retired from the KY Department of Transportation and a former ambulance driver for Buckhorn and Lee County Ambulance Service. He was a member of the Beattyville Baptist Church. Mr. Deaton is survived by a daughter, Martha Rose Dunaway of Beattyville, KY and a son, Bill D. (& Judy) Deaton of Ocala, FL; five grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends. Jack was born October 22, 1925 in Wartburg, Tennessee, to the late Tyler and Mossie Davis DeBord. He was a U. S. Army Veteran having served in WW II, a former surveyor, farmer, Post Master for Stay, KY, and a member of the Baptist Church in Oneida, TN. Along with his wife, Lucy, of 62 years, he is survived by three sons, Gary (& Donna) DeBord of McKee, KY, Jim (& Lisa) DeBord and Ronnie (& Andie) DeBord, both of Booneville, KY; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Other survivors are three sisters, Peggy Crawford and Jessie Sandlin, both of Nicholasville, KY, and Jean Jeffers of Oneida, TN; a brother, Jerry DeBord of Troy, OH; and a host of other relatives and friends. Jerry DeBord age 80 of East Schodack, NY, formerly of Tipp City, OH passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland, NY. Born November 14, 1936 in Oneida, Tennessee to; Tyler E. and Mossie Lee {Davis} Debord. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jerome Debord, brother, Jack Debord {*husband of Lucy Minter DeBord} and sister, Jean Jeffers. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy M. {Holtke} DeBord, daughter, Natalie and her husband Dave Watson, all of East Schodack, NY, sisters, Jessie Sandlin and Peggy Crawford both of Nicholasville, KY. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Joshua and Jonathan Watson and Ashley McGinnis. Jerry was a member of the VFW Post 4615, American Legion Post 586 and Eagles Lodge Post 2201 all in Tipp City. Jerry worked as a tool and die machinist and retired from General Motors. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Jerry enjoyed horses, his farm he owned in Covington, OH and hunting and fishing with his grandsons. His whole life was devoted to his family and his grandchildren. Lucy was born July 30, 1927, in Ricetown, Ky, a daughter to the late Brown and Fannie Wilson Minter. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a retired beautician of more than 50 years. She was also a member of the Indian Creek Presbyterian Church. She is survived by 3 sons; Gary (Tonya) DeBord of Tyner, Ky, Jim (Lisa) DeBord of Richmond, Ky and Ronnie (Andra) DeBord of Booneville, Ky, and one brother; Tommy (Geraldine) Minter of Ricetown, Ky. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren as well as a host of other family members and friends. Charlie Delph, 54, of Corbin passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky. He was born July 26, 1968, in Berea, Kentucky. Charlie was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Delph; brother, Michael J. Delph; mother-in-law, Etheleen Hartsock; sister-in-law, Elaine McQueen; brother-in-law, Eddie Hartsock; and niece, Lexi Brock. He leaves behind his loving family: his “little, lovely” wife Patty Sue Delph; father, Charles Delph; four children: Holli (Dustin) Bunch, Jodi (Dylan) Nunn, Cassidy (Justin) York, and Coby Delph; eight grandchildren: Bentley Ryan Lawson, Khloe Elizabeth Blakely, Emory Scottlynn York, Novalee Renee Nunn, Charlee Ann York, Kambree Elaine Nunn, Scotty Michael York, and Tommy Blaine York; five very close sisters-in-law: Donna Hartsock, Gwendolyn Hartsock, Jo Hartsock, Wanda (Sean) Johnson, and Carolyn (James) Martin; and many special nephews and nieces to whom Charlie was like a father. Charlie is also survived by others whom he considered as brothers and sisters: a special cousin, Kenny (Lisa) Reinhart, Mickey and Stephanie Robertson, Tim and Stephanie Roberts, Doyle Sparks, Jimmy Walker, Dr. Khalid Chaudry; his beloved Mama Faye Buchanan; and the Charlie Delph Roofing and Contracting crew. Charlie’s family was a priority for him, and he worked extremely hard to provide for their needs. He enjoyed spending quality time with them. Bonnie Faye (Brandenburg) Denham, 73, of Brookville, was born on October 3, 1949 in Clay County, Kentucky and died on Thursday, June 1, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Rawlie Brandenburg (* Born in Owsley Co. 8/20/1924) and Zella (Hubbard) Deaton. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Larry G Denham and a sister Brenda (Brandenburg) Whitaker. She is survived by her sister Barbara (Brandenburg) Foreman and brother Barry Brandenburg; three children: Lisa (Clyde) Gordon of Owenton Kentucky, Buddy Denham of Brookville, Indiana, and Angela (Kenneth) Cox of Laurel Indiana; Twelve grandchildren: Kristi Voelker, Andrew, (Emily) Voelker, Kati (Michael) Callahan, Ashley (Ryan) York, Woody (Brandy) Kater, Natasha Cox, Hannah Kater, Derick Denham, Damon Cox, Kenneth (Megan) Cox II, David Denham and Shayna Cox; twenty-two great-grandchildren: Keegan, Cooper, Colton, Bryson, Bailey, Brayton, Trey, Paisley, Ryder, Ryleigh, Otto, Brianna, Brandon, Jaden, Jacob, Zayden, Ziah, Nelly, Hudson, Edith, Eli, Jaxson. Bonnie married Larry on October 21, 1967 in Metamora, Indiana. Together they had three beautiful children. Bonnie was a homemaker all her life. She was proficient in making crocheted blankets, doll clothes, baby clothes, hats, scarves and anything she could think of. One year, she crocheted an American Flag blanket that was auctioned off at the Metamora Fire Department. Bonnie enjoyed vacationing in the mountains of Tennessee and riding the Harley with the love of her life and their friends. Although she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren she enjoyed her quiet time watching true crime on Netflix. Dennis, William Earl

William Earl Dennis, 63, of Aberdeen, OH, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at his home. He was born on November 22, 1951 at Oneida, KY to Haley Green Dennis and Garland Dennis. Will graduated from Mt. Orab High School in 1970 where he was an outstanding athlete in basketball. Many of his records remained unbroken for many years. He was awarded an athletic scholarship to Bethany College in Bethany, WV and later transitioned to an academic scholarship. Graduating in 1975 with a degree in Economics, he did post graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania. Will worked as a chemist at Haliburton Services, worked for many years at the Internal Revenue Service and was an entrepreneur and world traveler. Will was a loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He cared of his mother, aunt and grandparents for many years. He was a devoted friend, family-oriented person, lover of history and was known for telling many stories of the history of Brown County. Will was preceded in death by his parents, Haley Dennis and Garland Dennis, his maternal grandparents, Will and Mary Green and his paternal grandparents, Ez and Mary Jane Dennis. His is survived by his aunt, Erma Bowling Green (Tilmon) and many cousins including 2 very special cousins, Jessie and Josh Green. Will valued education and learning and was interested in and encouraging the younger generation of his family and their accomplishments. In the spring, a private memorial service and interment will be held at the family cemetery on Indian Creek, KY. Depew, Linda L. Treadway

Linda L. Depew, age 81 of Hamilton, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Hospice of Hamilton. “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is Love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:16-17. She was born on April 14, 1941, in Hamilton, the daughter of the late William [*son of Lawson Bascomb & Rosa Lee Jones Treadway] and Betty Treadway. Linda graduated from Ross High School in 1959 and married Merle Depew her devoted husband of 62 years on December 26, 1959. She retired from the Unemployment office. Linda was YouTube watcher at the Eaton Road Church of God and a radio listener at the Auburn Baptist Church the last few years due to illness. She was a member of the Fort Hamilton Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling, swimming at the Y, sewing, including the wedding dress her daughters wore, crochet, knitting, embroidery and quilting. Linda is survived by her husband, Merle Depew; her daughters, April (David) Metzler and Annette (Larry) Wolf; grandchildren, Joseph (Maggie) Metzler, Gabrielle Metzler, Jericho Wolf and Benjamin Wolf. She was also preceded in death by her infant sister, Patricia Treadway. Visitation will be held on July 6, 2022 from 10:30am to 12pm at the Eaton Road Church of God. Booneville, KY – Phillip Grant Dickerson, born October 25, 1971 in Campton, KY, passed away peacefully in his home in Pikeville, KY, Sunday, October 25, 2009 of congestive heart failure. He was 38 years old. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Esther and Frank Hatcher of Pikeville, KY; his father and stepmother, Eugene and Marcia Dickerson of Beattyville, KY; his brothers, George Dickerson of Knoxville, TN, Charlie and Todd Kenner of Pikeville, KY, Jeff Dickerson of Beattyville, KY and Brian Byrd of South Lebanon, OH; and his sister, Amanda Dickerson of Manchester, KY; also several aunts and uncles. Phillip was preceded in death by his grandparents, Al & Piney Baker of Mistletoe, KY and Ted & Dora Dickerson of Beattyville, KY. He was a graduate of Lee County High School, Class of 1989, was a block layer and heavy equipment operator, and his hobbies included restoring class vehicles. He was kind hearted, humorous and well liked by all who always knew him. He was never at a loss for jokes and could always find the humor in any situation. Willa Mae (nee Murrell), age 74, May 9,2012, Florence. Beloved long time resident of Northern Kentucky passed away May 9, 2012.Willa was born September 15, 1937, in Booneville, Kentucky to Sam and Golden Murrell. She was the oldest of four children and throughout her life maintained a fondness for her roots in Kentucky. Her family moved to Ohio during her teen years. Later, She would go on to meet and marry her husband; Anthony DiMuzio. Tony and Willa were married 56 years and blessed with four children. They have been long time Northern Kentucky residents, owned and managed businesses and enjoyed their journey together. Willa devoted much of her time and energy to serving the Diocese of Covington in various roles. Beginning at Marydale Retreat Center in Erlanger, later at the Seminary of St. Pius X and finally at Blessed Sacrament School, where she served many years as Cafeteria Manager. Her interests included family, cooking, her extended family at Blessed Sacrament and the multitude of friends made during her life. Willa always enjoyed good food, socializing and had an engaging personality that could light up a room. Mrs. DiMuzio is survived by her husband, Tony DiMuzio; daughter Debbie (Roy), son's; Greg(Tammy), Jeff(Denise) and Bret(Kris) & their families including eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Darrell David Dooley, 40, of Booneville, Ky., passed away on Thursday, October 29th at his home. He is survived by his parents, Darrell and Ruby Dooley, one son, Darrell David Dooley, Jr. all of Booneville, KY., three sisters, Kim (James ) McIntyre of Rock Hill, SC, Cheryl (Keith) Brown of Kennesaw, GA and Angela Morrison of Booneville, Ky., a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces who were very special and dear to his heart. He is preceded in death by one sister, Patty Dooley Risner. David had such a kind, loving and humble soul. He had a heart of gold and truly loved his family, friends and everyone he knew. He loved to fish, hunt rocks and listen to music. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone, and his friends knew they could count on him when they needed someone to talk to. Mr. Gary (Dozer) Dooley, 71, passed away November 19th, 2012 at the KY River Medical Center in Jackson, KY following a sudden illness. She was born January 18, 1942 in Owsley County, KY, was the daughter of the late Lucian and Anna Helen Lynch Brewer, was the wife of James K. She was the daughter of the late Luther & Jalah Mayes Roberts. She was a retired florist who loved growing flowers & plants outside & feeding & watching the hummingbirds. She truly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She believed & had faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of the Indian Creek Presbyterian Church. He was a former Correctional Officer for the Lee Adjustment Center in Beattyville, KY, served his Country proudly for 6 years in the US Navy serving around the world, enjoyed hunting and just being outdoors, and attended the Elk Lick Missionary Baptist Church in Booneville, KY. DOOLEY, JAMES K., 84, passed away October 7, 2022 at the U.K. Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky following a tractor accident. He was born July 28, 1938 in Owsley County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Matt C. & Virgie Mae Burton Dooley. He was the widower of Glema Brewer Dooley. He was retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot in Richmond. He was an avid farmer and worked with the forestry service through fire season and many, many other tasks. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 564 and was a member of the Elkatawa Methodist Church. Mr. Dooley is survived by two sons, Mr. James K. Dooley, Jr. of Corbin, Kentucky, Mr. Jeffery L. Booneville, KY - Ollie Ragon Dooley, 83, of Route 2, husband of Violet Mainous Dooley, passed away Friday, August 4, 2006, at the Owsley County Health Care Center, after a long illness. He was born on May 17, 1923, in Owsley County, to the late William and Nell Jackson Dooley. He was a member of the Booneville First Baptist Church, a Veteran of World War II, and a member of the Masonic Lodge 939, the OES 446, and was retired from operating a service station for many years. Besides his wife, Violet of Booneville, Kentucky, he is survived by a son, Jim (& Carolyn) Dooley of Lexington, Kentucky; a daughter, Pam Dooley of Stanton, Kentucky; a grandson, James Dooley of Davenport, Florida; a great granddaughter, Emma Katelyn Dooley also of Davenport, Florida; a sister, Elora Stewart of Dayton, Ohio; and a brother, C. J. Dooley, Beattyville, Kentucky. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2006, at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Lacefield officiating. DOOLEY, PAULINE FRANCIS MCINTYRE, age 80, a resident of Booneville, passed away May 13, 2022 in Verona, Kentucky, surrounded by her family. Pauline was a homemaker and enjoyed reading her Bible, spending time with family and friends, attending church and helping her late husband work outside. Doulen, Zelda Jean Moore

Zelda Jean Doulen, 82 of Connersville passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021. She was born on December 21, 1939 to Daniel B. Moore and Emily Mae Rowland Moore in Connersville. On September 9, 1954 she married George Doulen, together they were blessed with 6 children. They were able to spend 51 years together before he passed away on March 21, 2005. Jean was a member of First Church of Nazarene. She was involved in many of the church groups and activities. Jean had driven a school bus for the Fayette County School Corporation since 1974 before retiring. Jean had worked at various bakeries throughout the community. She also owned and operated Heavenly Sweets by Jeanne for many years. You could often find her sewing and doing crafts. She loved to bake and all of her sweet treats will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She cherished her time as a grandmother, a great grandmother and a great great grandmother. She was always there to support all of her children and grandchildren in all their endeavors in life. Juanita Wyatt Dubois, 79, of Connersville, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Lincoln Center Healthcare. One of ten children, she was born February 10, 1934, in Owsley County, Kentucky, the daughter of Thomas and Myrtle (Gabbard) Wyatt; they preceded her in death. In the 1930s, she moved to Connersville with her family and was a 1951 graduate of Connersville High School. In 1955, she was married to Carroll Dubois; Mr. Dubois passed away in 1987. For more than thirteen years, she worked for Bea’s and the Wooden Key Hallmark Store. A member of Central Christian Church, she enjoyed her family and friends, reading, working jigsaw puzzles and delighting in her flowers and hummingbirds. Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Schaefer and her husband Tim, three sons, Jeff Dubois and his wife Kena, Bradley Dubois and his wife Denise and Craig Dubois and his wife Ruth, four grandchildren, Josh and Ashley Schaefer and Kenzi and Dalton Luke Dubois, a great-granddaughter, Kaylynn Schaefer, a great-grandson, Eli Joshua, a sister, Nancy Gilmore, two brothers, Ronnie and Jerry Wyatt, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Denver and Bill Wyatt, four sisters, Bernice McKenney, Naomi Jane Wyatt, Jeanette Cheek and Cynthia Weems. Mrs. Bridgett Lynn Ranck Duff, age 38, passed away September 4th, 2014 at her residence following an ongoing illness. She was born on July 27, 1976 in Lexington, KY, was the daughter of the late Phillip and Linda Frost Ranck, was disabled and was a member of the Indian Creek Presbyterian Church. Duff, Cecil E.

Cecil E. Duff, age 89, of Decatur, Illinois, formerly of Hamilton, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Symphony of Decatur. He was born in Ricetown, Kentucky on December 7, 1925 the son of Claude and Nellie Francis (Edwards) Duff. Cecil was named to the Kentucky All State Basketball Team from Owsley County in 1944. He was a Navy veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific. Cecil attended the University of Kentucky and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University. He was head basketball coach at Owsley County High School from 1950-1952. On July 5, 1952 he married Irma Glynn Evans. Cecil and Irma moved to Hamilton in 1952. They were married nearly 50 years when she preceded him in death on January 28, 2002. An analytical chemist, Cecil was a supervisor in optical chemical spectroscopy at Fernald Nuclear Plant for 36 years retiring in 1988. He was a member of The Presbyterian Church where he was formerly active as an elder and deacon. He was also a member of American Society of Testing and Materials and the Society of Applied Spectroscopy. Cecil enjoyed many sports including golf later in life. He was an excellent carpenter. Cecil was married to Allegra Brown from 2003-2013. He is survived by his sons, James C. (Kathleen) Duff of Bethesda, MD. and Kevin D. (Deborah) Duff of White Heath, IL.; grandchildren, Matthew, Kaitlin, Scott, Bryan, and Sara; a sister, Nadine Burkes; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph, McKinley, Johnny, and Earl Duff; and a sister Lois Wilson. Mr. Clarence Edward Duff, 90, passed away November 20, 2013 at the ARH Hospital in Hazard, KY following a brief illness. He was born April 15, 1923 in Chavies, KY, was the son of the late Andrew & Lizzie Stevens Duff, was a retired auto garage operator, was a member of the Masonic lodge, was a Navy veteran volunteer during wartime of WW 2. CONNERSVILLE, Ind. -- McKinley Duff, age 93 of McGuire Ridge Road in Franklin County passed away Friday, May 23, 2008, at Lincoln Center West where he had been a patient for a brief time. He was born January 8, 1915, in Owsley County, Kentucky, the son of Claude and Nellie Edwards Duff. He had resided in the Connersville area since 1945. He had been employed for many years at National Metal and also farmed for many years. He is survived by three sons, David and Judy Duff of Connersville, Bill Duff and Sue of Connersville and Larry and Connie Duff of Mims, Florida; one daughter, Frances and Elman Metcalf of Mims, Florida; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl and Shirley Duff of Dayton, Ohio, and Cecil and Lee Duff of Hamilton, Ohio; two sisters, Lois Marshall of Booneville, Kentucky, and Nadine and Bill Burke of McGregor, Texas; two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Amis Duff, to whom he was married in 1935. She passed away in 1993. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny and Ralph Duff. William “Bill” Duff, Jr., 76 years old, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana. He was born on January 31, 1941 in Owsley County, Kentucky to McKinley [son of Claude & Nellie Edwards Duff] and Esther Amis Duff – both who preceded him in death. He served with the Indiana National Guard. He retired from Visteon and its predecessors after 30 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his sister – Frances (Elman) Metcalf of Mims, Florida and his two brothers – David (Judy) Duff of Connersville and Larry (Connie) Duff of Mims, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Bill will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Urban-Winkler Funeral Home in Connersville with Reverend George Nester of Connersville Baptist Temple officiating. Glona Jane Dunaway, age 92, departed this life on Saturday, June 10, 2006, at the home of her daughter in Broadhead, Ky. She was born on May 23, 1914 in Owsley County Kentucky, the daughter of Zach and Minnie Strong Margraves. She was a homemaker and a member of the Beattyville Baptist Church. Glona was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Dunaway and three sons: Winfred, Jr., Fred and Luther. She was also preceded in death by three grandchildren: Timothy, Jennifer and Michael. Glona is survived by two daughters, Helen (James) Barker of Bristol, Indiana and Linda (Coy) Taylor of Brodhead, Kentucky. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 35 Great-Grandchildren and 13 Great-Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Edna Callie Phillips of Vandalia, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews, including Betty Lou Hacker of Beattyville. Duncil, Roger Dale

Beattyville, KY – Roger Dale Duncil, age 58, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center in Hazard, KY. He was born March 13, 1951 in Lee County, KY, to the late Sherman and Mavis Mays Duncil. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran, a former truck driver for Dailey Allen Trucking, a mechanic and attended the Apostolic Church in Beattyville, KY. Survivors include his fiancée, Janet Murphy of Beattyville, KY; two sons, Cecil and Jeffery Sparks, both of Beattyville, KY; two daughters, Betty Byrd of Booneville, KY and Vickie Fox of Beattyville, KY; 13 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Other survivors are his three sisters, Rosa Lee Corder of Carlisle, KY and Kathy Allen and Beverly Holiday of Beattyville, KY; and a host of other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Allen Duncil; two sons, David Lee and Steve Dale Duncil; and a daughter, Lisa Michelle Duncil. Funeral services were Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home with Chris Holliday officiating. Visitation was held on Monday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Burial in the Duncil Family Cemetery, Hale Ridge, KY, with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Durbin, Gracie Lee Ross

Gracie Lee Ross Durbin, the widow of James Preston Durbin, and the daughter of the late Charlie and Susie Ross, was born in Lee County, Kentucky on July 3, 1928 and departed this life in Winchester, Kentucky on July 6, 2011 at the age of 83 years, one month and 3 days. She was a homemaker and attended the Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Durbin is survived by two daughters, Janice Durbin Isaacs of Winchester, Kentucky and Shirley Ann Durbin of Heidelberg, Kentucky; 5 grandsons, James Edward Isaacs of Lexington, Kentucky, Bradley, Michael and Timmy Isaacs all of Winchester, Kentucky, Stanley Isaacs of Booneville, Kentucky; one brother, James Ross of Beattyville and one sister, Wanda Lee Seales of Booneville; several great and great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. www.newnamfuneralhome.com

MICHAEL JOSEPH DURBIN, son of Dovie Flinchum and the late Fred Durbin was born in Estill County, Kentucky on October 16, 1976 and departed this life in Ashland, Kentucky on September 23, 2022 at the age of 45 years, 11 months, and 7 days. He worked as a construction worker and attended the Miracle Missions Church of the Living God. Booneville, KY- Barry M. Dye, age 51, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 in Booneville, KY. Barry was born September 22, 1971 in Cincinnati, OH, a son to Barry “Mike” Dye & Lana (Newkirk) Dye. He was mechanic, owning & operating his own business for many years. Barry loved cars! When he wasn’t tinkering on cars, he was spending time with his loving family members, and friends.
