Booneville
Church Rebuilt After 1954 Fire
One year ago, February 28, 1954 the Booneville Methodist
Church was struck by lightning and destroyed by fire, it was truly a sad
experience losing a church that was only built in 1948, but today things look different
for the congregation. On January 2nd
they reopened their new church which everyone is proud of. This was made possible by the faithful and
loyal members of church, the citizens of Booneville and Board of Missions.
The church is now completed except for a few minor
things. It has grown in attendance and
offerings and in many ways during the last four years.
Hickman Patrick is the very capable Sunday School Supt. and
the Sunday School continues to grow.
Treasurer is Miss Estelle Campbell and District Supt. is Dr.
M. P. McClure who played an important part in rebuilding the church, also the
very efficient building committee, D. W. Barrett, Walker D. Wilson and Hickman
Patrick.
A cordial invitation is extended the public to come and
visit the church and worship with us.
